Working with slabs with Peter Johnson
Building pots from slabs of clay - an introduction for beginners
Service Description
A 2 hr workshop aimed at introducing the beginner to the slab constuction method. This method involves rolling out clay to an even thickness then cutting shapes, folding, bending, manipulating and joining together to form a finished object. Our tutor is club member Peter Johnson. Peter trained as a production potter in the 70s. Influenced since by many NZ and overseas potters. Throughout the years he's built many wood fired kilns, tutored at various pottery schools and held weekend workshops all around the country. Pieces made in this workshop will be fired for collection at a later date. MCP is running under the red guidelines - a vaccine pass is required
