Service Description

This is a workshop for people who want to learn the basics of plaster mould making. We will be having a go at making single (week #1) and two piece moulds (week # 2) to make repeatable forms from. We will make a single form from thrown clay in the first part and you will need to bring a range of items that you will choose one to make a mould of. The item can be a hard object (like a barbie doll) or soft, but firm, like a piece of fruit or a vegetable. Once I cast a plastic clothes peg and a light bulb, for example. If you also want to cast a plaster slab so you can recycle your own clay, we can do that too - but for this you will need to bring your own plastic container in the size of the slab you want to pour (think plastic storage box).
