Service Description

Want to build bigger? This workshop is a two day workshop, (Saturday and Sunday) so that ideally you can start and finish a project in one weekend - well, at least so it is ready to slow dry for a bisque firing. In this workshop you will learn basic hand building techniques as well as specific techniques for larger work and sculptural work through demos, discussion and practical guidance. There will also be discussion on decoration and surface treatments - texture, colour and glaze (or not). Come along with groggy clay or clay with trachyte (raku clay is ideal if you are looking to buy, such as Feeneys) or you can add grog to your favourite clay body (almost anything bar porcelain works like this). The only other consideration you need to make is the temperature you want the firing to go to. Lots of clay means bigger work!! Participants provide their own clay & pay for their own firings Bring lunch to share
